Fortium™ High Glass Fiber Composites
Fortium™ is a family of composite materials reinforced with 35 to 55% glass fibers. This high level of reinforcement gives these composite materials high mechanical strength and impact resistance. The nature of the reinforcement allows these materials to be molded onto complex geometries by a compression molding process.
The use of thermosetting resins, such as polyester or vinyl ester, provides these composite solutions with temperature resistance as well as exceptional mechanical properties. This choice of resins and different levels of reinforcement allows you to optimize the performance of these composite materials. The Fortium product family makes it possible to compete with aluminum and steel materials on a mechanical properties/mass basis.
