IDI Composites' thermoset composites can be formulated to achieve low density, providing high strength materials with very low mass. The low density characteristics of our materials can also be combined with many of the performance attributes of our other products.

Thermoset composites with high mechanical strength

Dimensionally stable thermoset composites
IDI Composites International offers a range of thermoset composites that are dimensionally stable in ambient and extreme temperature environments. Our materials feature no shrinkage and are ideal for application projects requiring demanding tolerances. Additionally, these materials expand minimally at high temperatures or humid environments, making them suitable for use in industrial, automotive and marine applications.

Paintable thermoset composites
Unlike some metals and thermoplastics, IDI Composites International offers thermoset composite solutions with paintable surfaces, well suited to painting or powder coating to achieve an operational life of up to 30 years. The surface of parts molded with our composites benefits from excellent adhesion with primers, paints or glues.

UV stable composites
IDI offers a family of UV stable composites. These products can withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight and humidity in addition to their other properties. These composites are ideal for indoor and/or outdoor use depending on the cases and applications.

Flame retardant and low smoke toxicity composites
This category of materials offers low smoke toxicity and a low flame spread index. These properties make these materials suitable for the building and construction industry as well as transportation applications that require a high degree of safety.

UL rated and flame retardant composites
This class of materials is widely recognized for its exceptional electrical insulating properties. These particular materials can be found in consumer and industrial circuit breakers and switchgear and also have exceptional flame retardant properties. Many of these materials are UL yellow carded and have flame ratings ranging from HB to 5VA in varying thicknesses.
